Eid travel: booking your ride home in 5 minutes

Eid week is the busiest travel week in Pakistan. Buses fill up early. Trains fill up earlier. The Daewoo lobby is a small sea of luggage. If you have a family in the village and a job in the city, you know the drill.

Carpooling is the third option Pakistanis are starting to lean on. Here is the fastest path from "I need to be in Multan by Eid morning" to "seat is booked, driver is messaged".

Step 1. Search the route

Go to /find-ride. Type your from and to cities, the date, and how many seats you need. The platform sorts results by best match by default: a mix of price, time, rating, and CNIC verification.

Common Eid intercity routes:

• Lahore to Multan · PKR 1,500 · 4 hours via M-3 / M-4
• Karachi to Hyderabad · PKR 900 · 2 hours via M-9
• Islamabad to Peshawar · PKR 900 · 2 hours via M-1
• Lahore to Faisalabad · PKR 900 · 2.5 hours via M-3

Step 2. Pick a verified driver

Look for the green CNIC verified badge on the ride card. Read the rating and the number of completed rides. We surface the highest-rated CNIC-verified drivers first when you sort by Best match.

Step 3. Book the seat

Click the ride card. Click "Book this seat". Pick how many seats. The booking is atomic: if the seats are still there, you get them; if someone else booked half a second before you, the platform tells you and refunds nothing because no money was charged. You pay cash at pickup.

Step 4. WhatsApp the driver immediately

This is the step the platform now requires. After booking, the modal opens with a single primary action: tap the WhatsApp button. It opens a pre-filled message to the driver's phone. The driver expects to hear from you. Tap it now, send the message, confirm the pickup point in plain English. Then the modal lets you close.

Step 5. Add a backup alert if seats are tight

If the route you want has zero matches yet, the empty state on /find-ride will offer "Notify me when a matching ride is posted". Save it. The moment a driver posts a Lahore to Multan ride for your date, you get a notification. You can also see your active alerts on /my-alerts.

Eid-week tips

• Book at least 5 days ahead of Chand Raat. The closer to Eid, the fewer seats.
• Confirm pickup point in WhatsApp before driver leaves home, not at the time of pickup.
• Carry the exact cash for the seat price. Drivers do not always carry change at 5am.
• Send your live location to a family member for the whole drive.
